Day 9: Post Some Word of Wisdom That Speak To you

This was a good topic. I didn’t have to write anything though. It was enjoyable to put together the post.

  1. “ Dont let the behaviour of others destroy your inner peace”. — Dalai Lama  How true is this?  How many times we get upset because someone said so and so or about what they did. Doing that we just lose our time which we could uses fruitfully.
  1. “Gratitude is the wine for the soul. Go on. Get Drunk”   – Rumi .I have personally experienced the magic of gratitude. If you are grateful your life is much richer.
  1. “If you are going through hell, keep going!” — Winston Churchill. We need to keep going through hell as it shall pass too. So keep going!
  1. “Talk to yourself at least once a day or else you will miss meeting an excellent person in this world”. – Swami Vivekananda.
  1. “ The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourself” — Swami Vivekananda
  1. “When you undervalue what you do, the world will undervalue who you are”. Oprah Winfrey. A great quote by a woman for other women
  1. “You can disagree without being disagreeable”- Ruth  Bader Ginsburg. In todays times this should become a skill to be developed.

Day 8: Share Something You Struggle With

I struggle with need of gratification and therefore with consistency. They go hand in hand for me. Let me explain.

I start something , follow it for few days and then give in.

I have started counselling courses with Udemy and want to become a counsellor. I have been enrolled in this course for over two months, but I haven’t managed to complete  even 15% of the course.   The reason lack of consistency and urge for instant gratification.

I make a schedule for my day and there are probably few days in a week I follow the schedule but then there are days there is urge of surfing Youtube. Once you start doing that you never know how time flies, as there is always something interesting to watch next.  If its not youtube then there are phone calls from friends, WhatsApp messages, social media. If I could delay this urge of gratification of net surfing, I would have completed the course by now.

Another good example will be  my zillion weight loss efforts. They go really well and derail on weekend as there is always something nice to eat around or there is some social event and I just give in to my urge of gratification.

If I can delay this urge for gratification the consistency will kick in and so will results.  This is definitely a struggle though.

Day 5: List 5 Places you Want To Visit

Australia – It is on my list for really long.  Though the reason to visit Australia has changed now. Previously, I wanted to travel around the country but now I want it to be a culinary experience. I am a huge Masterchef Australia fan and now I want to visit the sets and eat around the best restaurants there as shown in the show.

Paris –  I have lived there with my husband for few months. I worked with a major French company and visited Paris many times for work.  Now I want to visit again with my daughter and niece and roam around the city enjoying aromas of croissants and coffee. I think I have some connection with that place and want to visit again.

Varanasi – Place of holy river,  Ganga. Indians believe taking a dip in Ganga washes away all your sins and I do want to wash away all my sins.  The evening pooja there with lights is a beautiful site and experience, which I want to be a part of.  It is definitely a place I want to visit.  Food in northern India is tops so that will be a bonus

Istanbul–  Its my idea of exotic. It looks colourful and I think shopping will be great and food too!

Bhutan – It is beautiful, serene and spiritual.  Its really green and I am sure I am going to love it. This is the only place on my list of which I have no clue about its food scene.
